When JIAO Dim Sum Bar needed branded pieces that could carry their Japanese-inspired identity from the front door to the table, they came to Drip Entertainment to design and build both the venue's signature illuminated sign and a custom bottle presenter for table-side service.

Here's what we delivered for one of Old Montreal's most talked-about late-night dim sum bars.

The Brief

JIAO blends modern Chinese dim sum with a cocktail-bar energy, run under A5 Hospitality's portfolio of Montreal restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. The room's identity leans into clean, Japanese-inspired geometry — sharp stepped edges, a graphic cube pattern, and a bold red medallion built around the JIAO wordmark.

The brief was to translate that identity into two physical pieces: a backlit sign strong enough to anchor the space visually, and a bottle presenter that could turn a standard bottle service pour into a moment worth noticing on the floor.

A Japanese-Inspired Illuminated Sign Built to Match the Room

Drip's team built JIAO's sign as a fully custom light box rather than pulling from a generic template — a stepped, pagoda-style silhouette with an internal geometric cube pattern, topped with the venue's red medallion and JIAO wordmark. The edges of the unit are lit and wrap with a repeating "JIAO" treatment, so the branding reads from the front, the side, and in profile.

A Universal Bottle Presenter Built for the Reveal

Alongside the sign, Drip designed and built a custom Universal Bottle Presenter for JIAO's bottle service program — a backlit, branded podium that holds and illuminates a standard bottle for table-side presentation. The panel matches the sign's cube-pattern language and tiles the JIAO wordmark into the surrounding surface, so the presenter reads as part of the same visual system rather than a standalone add-on.

Because the holder is built to fit standard bottle formats rather than one specific shape, staff can use the same unit across different bottle service selections — no need for multiple presenters built around different bottle profiles.
